2 Days (8 hours contact over inclusive assessment (60 Minutes)
Basic Lifting Supervisor is in charge of the overall work of managing and organizing liftin the load and to ensure that all
rigging work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to the regulation and to sound established customs and
practices, which will be covered throughout the entire sessions. The course is designed in such a way that it combined
theoretical, videos, interactive programs and lives sessions for the participants to be able to adapt the new way of
learning.
The course will also cover crane selection and understanding crane set up for lifting. The course is suitable for senior
Leaders or riggers who intent to become Lifting Supervisor at worksite as determine by the legal requirements. The course
will also stress on the importance of understanding the roles and responsibilities of lifting supervisor in performing the
normal / abnormal lifting in general. Aspect on evaluating and manage risk associated before, during and after lifting
activities will also be touched as based on lifting plan.
Operators, Technicians, Supervisors, Line Leaders and any relevant personnel who are responsible for the lifting supervisor.
At the end of course, the participant should be able to:
•Understand the legal aspects in terms of lifting activities as according to the Malaysian legislation OSHA 1994, FMA
1967, international practice LOLER, PUWER, API, BS7121 on crane inspection and usages.
•Observe general safety-first rules and carry out his duties in a safe and responsible manner as Site Lifting
Supervisor
•Have knowledge of safe working load of the crane surroundings, the hazards associated at workplace and managed
them together with the Lifting Team members, publics and other client vicinities
•Have a full knowledge in crane selection, crane handling, set up, crane capability and capacity as according to the
Crane Load Chart & Crane Angle Chart
•Ability to interpret and organize lifting activities as according to the lifting plan given and performed them in safely and timely manner
•Ability to inspect the lifting gears & attachments as well as Hoisting gears in general and act as focal person
pertaining the deviation on lifting plan (Decision maker)
• Understand the correct use of sling, hook shackle etc. for load and the use of lifting beams, Equalizer, slings and attachments as according to the lifting plan.
